Ordinato come “usato” il prodotto risulta praticamente un “pari al nuovo”.Secondo episodio, ottavo della saga, con la nuova impostazione in prima persona che personalmente trovo un’ottima idea per dare nuova linfa al brand anche se molti fan non hanno gradito il cambiamento… gusti.La storia riprende dove si era interrotta nel capitolo 7; tecnicamente è un buon titolo ma molto lontano dallo sfruttare appieno le potenzialità della PS5.Sul PSN è disponibile, in forma gratuita, la patch per la modalità VR compatibile solo con il PSVR2: una feature sicuramente immersiva e disturbante (giocare The Village in VR mette una discreta paura…) ma purtroppo afflitta da numerosi bug tecnici (un effetto MURA insopportabile, ghosting, cinematiche che provocano motion sickness, errori nella calibrazione della visuale ecc.ecc) dovuti al fatto che non si tratta di una modalità nativa ma di una patch creata un pochino alla carlona.Rispetto al 7 si spara molto di più, speriamo che in futuro si ritorni a dare maggiore importanza all’atmosfera.Gioco sicuramente consigliato agli appassionati della serie e a tutti gli amanti degli horror.

It’s been a long time since I played a game I could say I had fun playing without having to add a bunch of caveats.Simply put Resident Evil Village is just a blast to play. The combat is satisfying, the titular village is fun to explore, the characters are (mostly) interesting and, possibly for the first time ever in an RE game, I actually found myself genuinely invested in the story and Ethan Winters as a character.The one downside to some might be that the game isn’t remotely scary –even the infamous ‘doll house’ section everyone made a big deal out of– because it’s nothing you haven’t seen before if you’re a fan of horror games. Heck, even if you’re just a fan of Resident Evil, every scare RE8 has to offer you’ll have already seen in RE7, so you’ll know exactly what to expect going in and how to react to it.The one other gripe I guess I’d have is despite being designed to be replayed multiple times the game doesn’t give you the option to skip the prologue section which really just wastes 10 minutes, but given they let you skip just about every other cutscene in the game I think we can call that one a wash.
